For heavy duty damping requirements VB-2HD is the perfect material. At a mere .43 pounds per square foot VB-2HD out damps other materials that are up to 4 times heavier. How does it work? VB-2HD operates as visco-elastic dampers. By heavily loading silica and quartz into a flexible vinyl carrier VB-2HD efficiently converts vibration energy into low level heat. The flexible nature of VB-2HD enables it to mold and conform to irregular surfaces. This attribute allows VB-2HD to make 100% surface contact with the vibrating structure, maximizing the total damping effect. The modified acrylic peel and stick adhesive will maintain an excellent bond to temperatures in excess of 250° F.
